Welcome to Seem Gård, North-Trøndelag and salmon fishing in the river Namsen
Seem Gård is beautifully situated by river Namsen with a 2,5 kilometres long salmon beat. The distance from Seem to the nearest local community, Grong, is 5 kilometres. Seem Gård is located 170 kilometres north of Værnes Airport Trondheim and 45 kilometres east of Namsos Airport.
The Seem Estate and the Seem family go back to the 1650s. The estate is steeped in history and tradition regarding salmon fishing, farming, hunting and trade. The present owner, Anders O. Seem, is the fifteenth generation at Seem.
Today, the Seem Estate, approx. 2400 acres of woodland, forests and mountains, including 95 acres of arable land, is involved in various activities. The main focus in the summer period (June, July and August) is the use of the river beat. During the autumn and early winter periods, there is mainly elk and deer hunting as well as shooting of game such as capercaillie and ptarmigan on the upper hills and mountains.
The mountainous part of the estate has been developed into an Alpine skiing area, with four lifts, a snowboard run and 10 miles of alpine slopes with a fall of 1900 feet, offering 40 minutes continuous racing. International competitions are held and the Centre has a number of apartments and lodges to rent. The season lasts from Christmas to Easter.
